Mini Catalogue Fun

Well, where to begin?  Thank you to all those who came along for my open house to showcase some of the fabulous new products from the autumn/ winter mini catalogue.  We sure did have some fun, didn't we? Here are some of the make and takes for you all to enjoy:

Oh So Lovely Tea Bag Holder

This nifty little teabag holder is made from 1/2 an A4 sheet and can also hold an after dinner mint or other flat wrapped treat, if tea is not your cup-of-tea. 

Cardstock:  Rich razzleberry, Whisper white

Ink: Rich Razzleberry

Stamps: Vintage Vogue, basic phrases

Acc:  Cottage Wall DSP, 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon, large and small oval punches

Cut your RR cardstock to 190mm x 148mm.  Score at 90mm and 100mm measured along the longest edge, this will make a teabag holder that is 90mm x 90mm, with a 10mm spine.  Turn your CS 90 degrees and score at 90mm.  You will now have a 58mm flap which will fold up into the holder to create a pocket for your teabags.  Fold along all score lines and to help reduce bulk, cut out the thin middle section on the flap to leave the two pockets now separate.  Put thin adhesive on the flap edges (SIDES ONLY) and fold them up to make the pockets.  Cut pieces of whisper white to go on the pockets, stamping them as you wish.  This gives space to write a message to the recipient.  Stick ribbon on the front and back, long enough to tie, then adhere your pieces of designer paper over them securely.  I cut my paper 85mm x 85mm.  Finish it off with a sentiment as shown, or leave it blank, all you need to do is pop your treats inside and tie the ribbons.  This teabag holder will fit Lipton teabags and the larger Twinings teabags with no problems.  

Multi-coloured Medallion Stamp

This beautiful medallion stamp is even more beautiful when you add some graduated colour.

Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Whisper White

Ink: Soft suede, melon mambo, rich razzleberry

Stamps: Medallion, Heard from the heart

Acc: Sponge daubers, perfect polka dots embossing folder

This stamp is huge, the block measures approx 125mm x 160mm, so lay it flat on the table, rubber side up to ink.  Ink up the centre of the stamp with the melon mambo, then using sponge daubers apply rich razzleberry from the ink pad to the stamp.  Make sure you blend in with the melon mambo to give it a smooth colour transition.  Using another sponge dauber, ink up the edges of the stamp with the soft suede.  Give your stamp a good "huff" to remoisten the ink, then stamp onto whisper white.  Press down firmly on the back of the wood block to transfer as much ink as possible, don't move or rock the stamp, just give it time to kane contact with the cardstock.  Remove your stamp then oh and ah at how clever you are.  Trim your cardstock to your desired size and mount on the card back.  I added a strip of soft suede that I polka dotted with the perfect polka embossing folder, then stamped a sentiment from the lovely "heard from the heart" set.
