This beautiful card is actually a chocolate holder. It holds a 100g block of chocolate secured with a buckle.
Cardstock: Kraft, Very Vanilla
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Not Quite Navy
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Flight of the Butterfly
Acc: Bella Bleu DSP, Large Oval and Scallop Oval punches, Very Vanilla ribbon, horizontal slot punch, sticky strip, white vellum, butterfly punch, dimensionals
I measured the block of chocolate then made an open topped box to fit. The front of the box is a card, so I scored the card front first, then measured up the box from there. Make sure you do any punching and adhere the buckle inside the box BEFORE you tape it all up. The box is so flat you will not have any room to manipulate it after it is taped together. Punch a wider slot for the buckle by punching the centre part first, then moving the punch to either side of that slot to widen. I round the corners of the buckle flap to prevent dog ears. The daisy stamp was inked up in close to cocoa, stamped on to very vanilla cardstock, then stamped off to create the lighter shadow effect. The butterflies were stamped in not quite navy and one was stamped on white vellum then punched out and adhered using the SUPER FANTASTIC mini glue dots. What did I ever do without them???? No more fiddling with the 2 way glue just to get the body of the butterfly to stick, no more rolling pieces of double sided tape into little sausages to match the body...... just grab the mini glue dot with the centre of the butterfly body and stick it onto the cardstock. Finish it off with some ribbon and a sentiment.
I love making these as an unexpected treat. Best hand delivered, as posting chocolate in summer could result in a melted mess. I know from experience.
