The cracked glass technique gives an aged look to an image. For this card I used a printed map from an out of date Melways that was destined for the recycling bin. I kept some pages to use as unique paper - once I sent out invitations in recycled Melways envelopes! It may have confused the postie, but it did stand out and people all commented on the upcycling.
This card represents time we spent in Mallacoota, abundant with sea life, beaches and kilometres of coastline within the Croajingalong NP.
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Ink: Soft Suede, Versamark
Stamps: Nature's Nest, Tiny Tags
Acc: Early Espresso Grosgrain ribbon, brights brads, clear embossing powder, Neutrals DSP, Jewelry Tag punch
I used about 6 layers of clear embossing powder, then popped it in the freezer for about 15 mins. Once cold I cracked the EP and rubbed some ink over to age the cracks. The photos have not been able to show the lovely shine that the layers of embossing powder create. This was a fun technique that I have been wanting to try for a long time. You could also use the same technique and leave it as a lovely thick resin-like finish.
