Usually when I make a wedding card I take my design cues from the invitation itself, but this time I did not have an invitation nor know the bride or groom, so I went with decadently elegant. I am loving the new colour Marina Mist, so be prepared to see more of it in the coming posts!
Ink: Soft Suede, Marina Mist
Stamps: Occasional Quotes
Acc: Vintage Wallpaper EF, Scallop Trim border punch, Marina Mist taffeta ribbon, basic pearls, Oval XL punch, colour spritzer tool, champagne mist shimmer paint, 3/16" corner rounder punch
For this card I made the cake using three graduated very vanilla rectangles and rounded the corners on one edge. These were stacked one on top of the other and then I punched a scallop trim border overlay and gently sponged the edges of the cake with some champagne mist shimmer paint. A line of pearls was added to finish it off. After using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder I sponged lightly with the shimmer paint again and spritzed with the soft suede marker to achieve the speckled background. I used the soft suede and marina mist markers directly to the sentiment and finished it all off with a double looped bow in the marina mist taffeta ribbon. I also used the scallop trim border punch on the inside back of the card as shown above.
Happy Stamping,
What a stunning card! Of all things to love about the card, the double bow is really doing it for me!
