This easy gift bag is the perfect size for handmade cards and standard C6 envelopes. The finished measurements are approx 12cm x 17cm x 2.5cm and you need just sheet of A4 cardstock.
Take your A4 sheet and measuring along the longest edge, score at 12cm, 14.5cm, 26.5cm and 29cm (you will have 9mm left over which will be the flap to put the adhesive on later). It does not matter whether you score from the lefthand side or the righthand side.
On one short edge, score in 2.5cm from one edge only. This will fold up to be the bottom of your bag. On the opposite edge, punch a decorative border along the entire length of the cardstock if desired. Using a bone folder, fold along all of the scored lines. Cut up to the score lines as shown by the solid lines below, and cut out the small rectangle at the bottom. Punch holes in the sides for ribbon, put adhesive on the side edge flap and fold into a box shape. Adhere the bottom flaps and tie on the ribbon handles. Now decorate as you like.
